The number one thing that prevents people from wanting to become a prepper are the expenses, but prepping on a tight budget is actually quite simple.
Bear in mind that most of what we say is our opinion and you must plan according to what your situation requires.
You don't have to go out and buy everything you think you need in one go, most people will have different prepping needs. So lets get started on the list
The first tool on your list should be a high quality full tang survival knife because full tang knives can handle a whole lot more abuse than a standard knife.
Our two recommended choices for a knife are:
Another essential item for prepping is a bug out bag. If you were in a bugging in location at first and it becomes unsuitable, then you will need a decent bug out bag, so you can leave that location while having the necessary resources for survival. Here is a small list of what you should get.
If it is safe to bug in and you are looking to start stock piling food and water, it is best to look for stuff in bulk or stuff on sale, normally stores will give you a discount if you buy value packs/bulk items. Be sure to look at the expiration dates, we recommend stocking piling food that has a 1 - 2 year shelf life or longer. The food your stock pile must have need to have a decent amount of fats, carbohydrates, and protein. Your food requires these things because fats and carbohydrates give you energy, whereas protein promotes muscle growth.
If you have three weeks worth of food and only two weeks worth of water, then you only have two weeks worth of food. Keep in mind that while the human body can survive up to three weeks without food, the human body can only last three days without water. So water and shelter should always be your priority, after that, everything else will fall into place, if you're prepared.
When you start to prep your medical needs, make sure to have extra medical supplies such as:
This post can go on and on, but be sure to be creative and always think of other everyday stuff you can use in your preps!
